
About Nic
Nic Stark is an experienced performer and voice teacher currently living in central Pennsylvania. As a performer, Nic is particularly drawn to the operatic stage, though he also enjoys singing musical theatre, pop, rock, and folk music when the occasion strikes. As a teacher, he enjoys working with untrained and developing voices. Nic aims to help his students find an effortless and flexible sound, regardless of style.
Recent Engagements
As a performer, Nic has most recently been spotted as Basilio/Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro at Music On Site Inc.. His other recent stage credits include Giles Corey in The Crucible, Bardolfo in Falstaff, both at Harrower Summer Opera, and Father Confessor/Chevalier de la Force in Dialogues of the Carmelites with Penn State Opera.
In concert, Nic was recently seen as a soloist with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra in their performance of Carmina Burana. He has also performed numerous operatic excerpts, including roles such as The Magician in The Consul, Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore, Candide in Candide, Ferrando in Così fan tutte, Rodolfo in La bohème, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Valcour in L'amant anonyme, and Ruggero in La rondine.

During his time at Penn State, Nic had the opportunity to interpret Ralph Vaughan Williams' "On Wenlock Edge." He collaborated in concert with both the Early Music Ensemble and the Department of Composition, performing everything from Bach cantatas to contemporary American opera to premieres of new works. In addition to the more traditional Western languages, Nic performed art song in Polish and Mandarin Chinese. He also presented research on Spanish composer Fermín María Álvarez in the form of a lecture-recital.
